At Musical Roots Studio, our goal is to create a positive, supportive, and inspiring musical experience for every student. The following policies help ensure consistency, fairness, and a smooth learning experience for all families.

Tuition & Registration

Private lesson tuition reserves a dedicated weekly lesson time with your teacher and secures your place in the studio.

Tuition is paid monthly and reflects your enrolment in the studio program, rather than the number of lessons in a particular month. Monthly tuition remains consistent throughout the year.

Students are enrolled in a recurring lesson time until written notice of withdrawal is received.

Attendance & Missed Lessons

Regular attendance is essential for musical growth and progress. If a student will be absent, families are asked to provide as much notice as possible.

Missed Lessons with Notice

When at least 24 hours' notice is provided, students will receive a make-up credit. Make-up lessons are subject to teacher availability and are not guaranteed.

Missed Lessons Without Notice

Lessons missed with less than 24 hours' notice are not eligible for a make-up lesson, credit, or refund.

Teacher Absences

If a teacher must cancel a lesson due to illness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, a make-up lesson or studio credit will be provided.

Withdrawal Policy

Families wishing to discontinue lessons must provide 30 days' written notice by email.

Tuition is non-refundable for lessons already completed. Any eligible credit or refund will be calculated based on the student's final lesson date.

Practice Expectations

Meaningful progress happens through a combination of weekly lessons and regular home practice.

Students are encouraged to follow their teacher's practice recommendations and establish a consistent practice routine at home. Parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting younger students throughout their musical journey.

Studio Calendar & Holidays

The studio follows an annual teaching calendar. Information regarding holidays, studio closures, and recital dates will be provided throughout the year.

Tuition accounts for scheduled holidays and closures within the annual studio calendar.

Recitals & Performance Opportunities

Students may be invited to participate in recitals, studio classes, and other performance opportunities throughout the year.

Participation is encouraged but not mandatory. These experiences help students develop confidence, celebrate their progress, and share their music with family and friends.

Illness Policy

Please keep students home if they are experiencing symptoms of illness.

If a student is unwell and unable to attend their lesson, families should notify the studio as soon as possible. The missed lesson policy outlined above will apply.

Photos & Media

From time to time, Musical Roots Studio may take photographs or short videos during lessons, recitals, workshops, and studio events for educational or promotional purposes.

Families who prefer that their child not appear in photos or videos may opt out at any time by providing written notice.
