About Ms. Susan

Susan's love of music began in early childhood, inspired by her father, who played the piano and sang every evening. She started piano lessons at age six and quickly developed a passion for both music and singing.

After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education from Michigan State University, Susan became a Montessori teacher for children ages 3 to 6. She also completed Grade 10 Piano through The Royal Conservatory of Music. During her years in the Montessori classroom, she discovered a passion for sharing music with young children through singing, movement, dancing, and playing instruments during circle time.

Motivated by the joy and enthusiasm she saw in her students, Susan pursued specialized studies in Early Childhood Music at The Royal Conservatory of Music. There, she expanded her repertoire of songs and deepened her understanding of the connection between music and movement. She incorporated piano accompaniment into her lessons, encouraging children to respond naturally to music through running, skipping, jumping, and dancing.

Susan later completed three summers of Orff Method training at The Royal Conservatory, integrating singing, movement, rhythm instruments, dance, and musical games into her teaching. She furthered her studies at The Longy School of Music in Boston, where she focused on movement-based music education. Today, she continues her professional development through workshops and ongoing music education training.

Susan brings warmth, energy, and joy to every lesson, creating engaging musical experiences that inspire young children to sing, move, explore, and develop a lifelong love of music.
